Amber Noella Art

I am a freelance visual artist residing in Aylesford, Nova Scotia. I enjoy drawing with pencil crayons, ink, charcoal, pastel and anything that happens to be handy really. Drawing and sketching are my first love and I have been dabbling in it since I was a small child. Over the years, I have experimented with painting, mixed media, found objects/abstract art, clay and paper mache sculpture but I still feel a deep connection with drawing.

Art brings joy and I love to teach friends and people of all ages. I share what I have learned and I often learn from those I teach. It is very rewarding spending time with creative people,  learning and exploring new techniques and media is a lifelong journey that is enriched when shared with others.

In my spare time, I enjoy creating commissions, small studies, portraits, urban sketches, tiny paintings and large murals. I am inspired by a wide variety of artists; Andy Warhol, Maude Lewis, Tim Burton, William Turner and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Nature inspires me too. While walking with my husband and beautiful dogs, I try to snap pictures when I get inspired. I always plan to circle back and make a painting or drawing but life is busy and it’s a challenge to make time to create. Most of my art is one of a kind, a stand alone piece but sometimes, I imagine a series and when the stars align and I can take the time to create it…a series with the same subject matter evolves; fish, horses and highlands cows are recurring features.

I love to capture moments and the brilliant colours of the creatures around us. I feel centred and grounded by nature and I love to create while immersed in our beautiful vibrant world.

“Be the change you want to see in the world.”
