Bloody Creek Creations
Artist Joan McLean
Joan lives in the rural community of Centrelea, Annapolis County.
She has named her art Bloody Creek Creations after the creek that runs through their farm. Her experiences while growing up on a farm in the Annapolis Valley inspire her to attempt to capture the beauty of landscapes, farms and the Bay of Fundy. She has a passion for painting plein air (in the open air) and has developed a love of watercolour and sketching in ink and watercolour.
She has been fortunate to have attended both studio and plein air workshops with Digby artist Poppy Balser and over the past 2 years has explored illustration through online courses with Australian artist Nina Rycroft.
She also enjoys teaching watercolour classes at the Centrelea community hall and is available for private and small group sessions.
She is a member of the Annapolis Community Arts council ARCAC, and participates in the annual Paint the Town fundraiser.
Her work can be viewed in Centrelea community Hall, Aroma Mocha café, and Tallulah Freelove shop, Bridgetown as well as Garrison House Inn and Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal.
